About Drollywood Pictures

Drollywood Pictures was founded in 1988 as United Drozki, when Patrick Droz discovered his brand new hobby: Filming floorball sequences on video and putting them together to small movies. First very simple with a VHS-C Camera and a very simple editing technic: With two VHS recorders. For him, the result was great. Today, he'd prefer to put his head in the sand when he watches certain scenes from that time and somehow the old movie cliché comes in mind: "I was young and I needed the money". Well, there was no money to earn with that kind of movies but his videos became very popular among his club colleagues. Gradually, the technology has been refined, new cameras (Video 8, DV, etc.) and external hardware has been used (for the first time a title generator and hardware to get better slow motions) and finally a PC program to edit the movies. First the legendary IMovie as it was the easiest software without a 200 side manual. Some shots for the after-game analysis taken during the Women's Floorball World Cup 1999 in Sweden were finally edited to become a full-length movie given to the players and the staff as a souvenir.

With programs based on the drag-and-drop principle and full-HD cameras, things started to be really fun. The highlight so far was the production of a film for the ladies' team of the UHC Mettmenstetten Unicorn, which was performed at the Seehof Cinema in Zug. Two years later, United Drozki - now renamed in Drollywolld Pictures - produced a second movie for the team called: "Unicorns - The Road ends at the Albis Pass". This time, the movie was presented with a huge success at the Lux cinema in Baar. Since 2013, a "Christmas Special" always appears at Christmas time; a compilation of the most beautiful scenes in ice and floorball filmed during the year. The very own kind of Christmas greeting for the colleagues and friends.

There are 30 years in between: At the top, the very first intro by United Drozki in 1988 made of cardboard and aluminum foil. The logo was "cranked" into the picture with a Lego crane mechanism. Below the first-ever logo, there is the latest one specially created for the 30 year anniversary of Drollywoold Pictures. For the first time in 30 years music, logo and animation were not "stolen". The music in the intro was arranged by Malaysian musician Tan Cheng Yew, based on a "composition" of Drozki.

The logo was adapted in 2024 Since then, a moose has been at the centre of the logo A small tribute to the floorball club UHC Elch Zurich, where Drozki took his first steps on the long road of his floorball career.
